For over twenty years, Ken Jacques has been capturing San Diego’s best theatrical performances in lively and dramatic photographs. Now Jacques shares a personal retrospective of the local theatre scene in a collection of his best work. Accompanying the photos are anecdotes, insights, and memories from a selection of the players, writers, technicians, and directors who make the magic happen.

San Diego is currently home to more than one nationally acclaimed theatre, as well as many little-known but critically admired companies—in fact, it boasts more live theatre than either San Francisco or Los Angleles. In these pages you’ll meet some old friends, but you’ll also get to know players from some of the newest local theatres, all of whom you will be hearing from for years to come.
